A “Waiting for Activation” message will appear below the Face Time option while this process completes.
Face Time registration normally only needs to be completed when you turn on Face Time or swap SIM cards in your i Phone.
In light of the addition of non-i Phone devices to the Face Time network, and the eventual desire of users to continue using their i Phones on Wi-Fi networks after discontinuing their cellular service plans, it will be interesting to see whether Apple provides an option for registration of these devices—most likely using Apple IDs.
An Apple ID is required to use Face Time on devices other than the i Phone, however there has been some confusion as to exactly what an Apple ID is and what is required to set one up.
Google revealed its answer to natural, reliable, universal video messaging at Google I/O in May, and has now followed up with the release of the Duo one-to-one video calling app.
One of the main issues with video calling is reliability, or lack thereof.
Note that depending on your carrier, this option may be enabled by default.i OS users won't get the function unless Duo is already open, blame the software whizzes in Cupertino for that one.
